Bone grafts are designed to increase the width and height of the bone at the area where the implant is going to be placed.
The bone graft tissue is taken from elsewhere in the body, from a human donor or an animal and grafted onto the area being treated.
The material used also includes collagen and proteins that can promote the growth of natural bone tissue, helping to ensure the long-term health of the bone in the treated area.
This also serves to further support the implant and ensure it is in place for many years to come.
